Non-Profit Labor Program

We have a saying at High Street. The world would be a better place if more people just drank good wine. We’re putting that theory to the test by launching a program that will put our team to work serving the local community. Let us explain.

In an effort to better help our community in a time of need, we at High Street Wine Co wanted to create a program that gave help where it was needed most. With the closing of bars and little money coming in, we thought the best way to keep our team employed and serving others was to design a wine program that could effectively build in hours with local nonprofits and community services. Furthermore, the program could also directly raise money and awareness for each nonprofit and at the same time fill vacant volunteering positions. If we sell enough wine, we can keep more of our team employed and send them to do good work in the community. The world may not need bars right now, but it does need help in so many other areas--like hospitals, homeless shelters, food banks, hospice care facilities, and crisis centers. So, for every wine pack or wine class you purchase, you’ll be helping us support our community and, at check-out, you’ll get to choose which organization you’d like to support. If you want to match our labor contributions to pay our staff to take more time to volunteer in the community, you can do that online as well!

As a small business forced to shut down twice, High Street may not have much money to give, but we have wine to share and we have a team of hospitalians who want to do right by our community, by serving and giving all that we can. Help our community, help us, and hopefully through wine, we can help to make a difference.

Fighting Hunger, Feeding Hope

Founded in 1980, The San Antonio Food Bank has quickly grown to serve 58,000 individuals a week in one of the largest service areas in Texas. Our focus is for clients to have food for today but to also have the resources to be self-sufficient in the future.

Fighting hunger is our number one priority but we also serve to educate and provide assistance in many other ways. We achieve this through our variety of programs and resources available to families, individuals, seniors, children, and military members in need.
